All guild members and applicants are expected to read and understand this charter. The guild operates under these guidelines, so all members of Second Attempt should be aware of its contents.

Second Attempt was formed during the midst of The Burning Crusade from the merger of two top guilds on Eonar, named Reign and Last Attempt. Since the guild was formed we pushed for many realm firsts in Burning Crusade as well as Wrath of the Lich King and held a formidable top world rank. DAfter a period of time and after clearing early Wotlk content with more realm firsts the guild looked elsewhere for experience with the game and most realm transferred to start a new guild on a new realm. As it stands now Second Attempt has been reborn with ex officers and guild mates of Second Attempt. We spent some time reforming under the guild banner, Cynosure during late Wrath of the Lich King and then came over to reform and restore Second Attempt. Since the guild was formed, Second Attempt has grown immensely in both size and accomplishment. The guild first began raiding in early 2006 and has enjoyed a multitude of boss kills in end-game content. We are primarily a raiding guild but with plenty of opportunity to enjoy other aspects of the game. The guild maintains a casual and friendly atmosphere, minimizing pressure and making the game more enjoyable for all of our members.

We transferred over from Eonar to Sargeras as of April 2015 to enjoy the more populated environment of Sargeras, better recruitment pool and all around better community environment offered by the server. Although Eonar has been our home for the past 10 years, it has been bleeding out players even with a server merger, over the last few years. Unfortunately for the guilds sake, it was time to leave.

Guild Masters and Officers are always available to help our members with in-game problems, guild issues/questions/information, and are always working to provide the best environment possible for our raiders.

Second Attempt is a raiding guild - Note that we do activities other than just raiding, as well as play other games together, but if you are applying to us, it is to raid.
As such, our objectives are:
• Put plainly, we want to be the best group of 20 that we can possibly be.
• To progress through normal and hard mode content as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• To have fun. You know how you have fun? You kill bosses without wiping a million times.

Code of Conduct:
We seek players that have four unique qualities; Dedication, Excellence, Ambition, and Camaraderie.
Dedication - To the guild and to the guilds goals at hand.
Excellence - Both at your class and as player, while keeping the guilds goals in mind first.
Ambition - To help achieve the goals of the guild, we're here for something that is bigger than ourselves.
Camaraderie - There’s someone behind every character you play with in this guild; respect them, learn with them, make memories with them and kill dragons with them. After all in the end, that's what we're all here for, right?
In the end, our code of conduct is simple. Respect your officers, respect your fellow raiders, and don't cause problems. Follow these rules, and you'll be just fine.

To raid with us you must have the following:
• Discord (separate voice chat application)
• Deadly Boss Mods (or equivalent)
• Class specific add-ons (Pally Power for example)

Join your individual class channel before beginning a raid. Ask your officer for more information.

The officers decide who will be attending raids. It is expected that you give them as much notice as possible for scheduling conflicts. We know things happen outside of WoW that take precedence over raids, so just let us know.

General Raiding Rules:
• Know your character, his/her abilities and limits.
• Obey your raid leader, GMs and officers.
• Do not flood chat or Discord with chatter during boss fights or new content.
• Be repaired and prepared to raid. Don't count on someone to drop a Jeeves for you 3 wipes into working on a new boss.
• Always let your Class Master or the Raid Leader know before you go AFK.
• All Raiders that begin a raid are expected to stay until the scheduled finish time unless other arrangements have been made.

To put it plainly, your job as a raider is to show up and fill your role to the best of your ability. If you suck, you will be replaced. If you don't show up or are frequently late, you will be replaced. The idea here is we aren't trying to "take your spot" or "give your spot away" - the position goes to whoever deserves it most. They are yours to be earned.

Loot Distribution:
Second Attempt distributes it's loot through a officer led loot council which is designed to increase progression, push people to be better players given their class and keep things all around fair for our solid raiders i.e consistently on time to a raid, proficient with their character, etc.

For example. A shiny new two-hander drops. Jack the Ret Pally and Danny the Arms Warrior both link. Jack shows up on a regular basis and does much better dps than Danny, and has taken the same amount of loot - therefore, the officers will vote for Jack. Pretty easy to understand.

Leaves of Absence:
Please let your officer know if you will need to be away from the game for any period of time. This is what the Notification forum is for - use it.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask any officer or GM privately or in the forums. You can also cantact us in game regarding recruitment questions:
